Running behind but things ARE moving forward!

First off, we need to sincerely apologize for the amount of time that has passed since our last update. We’re going to include as much info as possible in this update and commit to posting more regular updates as we continue to move ahead.

Yes, we are running late. We will be receiving our test shots from the factory within the next few weeks, we’re very much looking forward to getting them in hand and will absolutely share images with you in an upcoming update. Our current production schedule has wave 1 ready to exit the factory mid-December. This puts our current shipping to backers estimate into Q1 of 2027. Of course we realize that this is a year later than our original Kickstarter estimated shipping date which is unfortunate (but probably also not entirely surprising for anyone familiar with crowdfunded toy lines).

Changing our company name from Toy DNA to PVC ENT caused a significant delay in getting our BackerKit / preorder store up and running. We have finally received the name change paperwork from the IRS and have requested the additional forms we needed for verification. We will be posting another update as soon as the smoke tests go live along with the actual launch dates for the BackerKit & preorder store.

The BackerKit / preorder store will remain “open” until at least the end of July so we can finalize our order quantities for each of the 11 characters in wave 1.

All 11 characters (including the Manglers & Baphomet) will be available in the BackerKit to Kickstarter backers at their original campaign pricing. The preorder store pricing will be slightly higher and we will also be offering both the Mangler & Baphomet to BigBadToyStore.

To share some of the additional things that have caused delays; when we initially created our prototypes we did so at 2 different scales, 104% (to account for manufacturing shrink) and 2-ups (double the size, a nod to “old school” toy prototyping). When we created the soft goods for the Deluxe figures we made 1-offs at the different scales only to later learn that our factory wanted patterns to work from, so we basically worked backwards in order to be able to supply the factory with what they requested. We also slightly reworked some of the engineering for the articulation in order to make our figures pinless. All 11 figures will feature pinless double elbow and double knee joints, their pinless joints will be more along the line of imports in this regard (unlike the insert-molded double joints from many of the domestic companies you may be familiar with, however our ankle joints ARE going to be insert-molded to make them pinless and increase durability).

We have also been hard at work on the packaging art behind the scenes and are really looking forward to sharing it with you as we get closer to finalizing it. Each of the 11 figures will have unique packaging along with amazing character specific art from the insanely talented Erwin Papa.

A long overdue update and a LOT more to come...

The 3D files for all 11 figures were turned over to our factory. They have gone over our prototype with their engineers and made their preliminary model samples. Here are the images of those that we received from them that show the breakdown of parts:

We have had quite a few back & forth emails with our factory partner going over lots of small details that needed adjustment for injection molding, we'll be sharing some of these images with you in future updates.

I'm sure that you noticed that there are 11 figures - and that is because both Mangler & Baphomet are moving full steam ahead!

Our BackerKit is just about ready to launch, we will be doing a "smoke test" very soon and then launching it shortly thereafter, we will post an update as soon as we have the actual dates nailed down. The BackerKit will have all 11 of the figures available for our backers at the original Kickstarter pricing.

Baphomet & Mangler physical paintmasters were both completed just before SDCC and anyone that came by the Indie Action Figures: Behind The Scenes panel got an early look at both in person. We have a bunch of white background photos of them that we will be posting as updates and on social media right before we launch the BackerKit.

If you aren't a backer and you're interested in acquiring Baphomet or Mangler (or any of the other 9 figures in wave 1) - have no fear, we will also be launching our preorder store alongside the BackerKit! We will also be offering both Baphomet & Mangler to the fine folks over at BigBadToyStore as well, we'll provide links to all of these outlets in future updates.

1:12 scale (between 6.75” - 7” tall) highly articulated action figure includes:

BASIC figure - Baphomet

Before the dawn of man, the world was divided into gods and monsters and there was only one truth: the balance of all things. That truth had a shape and a name - Baphomet.

Neither man nor beast, angel nor devil, Baphomet was once revered as the embodiment of equilibrium: masculine and feminine, light and dark, chaos and order. The ancients built shrines in his image, made ritual sacrifices whilst whispering secrets to horned idols in flickering torchlight. But the rise of monotheism cast Baphomet into the shadows, vilified as a demon, scapegoated as a symbol of all that was feared and misunderstood.

For centuries he lay dormant, bound in stone and scripture, his name invoked only in hushed curses by cults too desperate to care about what they were summoning. Now the bindings have cracked. The old sigils have faded. Baphomet walks again - neither to punish nor to save, but to rebalance.

Pray that he finds you blameless... 

As you might recall, Baphomet was intended to be one of our Kickstarter campaign Stretch Goals. We love this guy (and the Manglers) so much and we are hoping that you all do too... The plan is to make them available in our upcoming Backerkit & preorder store in addition to offering them both to online retailers. We are feeling pretty confident that both will be popular enough additions to The Cursed Dead - WAVE 1!

What's in a name?

Hello backers! 

As we push forward on the manufacturing of WAVE 1 we wanted to make you all aware of a behind-the-scenes change that we have made - we are officially changing our company name from Toy DNA to PVC Entertainment.

Despite initially introducing ourselves as Toy DNA when we debuted The Cursed Dead way back at DesignerCon 2019, the potential for confusion with another company amongst the toy community became much more apparent when we launched our Kickstarter campaign. Unfortunately, we were not able to change the company name while the campaign was live, but now that we have successfully funded and are moving forward with the production of WAVE 1 we wanted to "officially" make this change in an effort to minimize any possible confusion down the road... So in full transparency, Toy DNA is no more, long live PVC Entertainment!

What does this mean for you? Nothing really, we're just letting you all know!

Of course we're keeping a watchful eye on tariffs, we've still got quite a bit of time before we'll be shipping so we're hoping the situation continues to improve... Sending positive vibes to all that are navigating this difficult time in the industry.

We did it. The Cursed Dead - WAVE 1 is happening - thanks to all of you!

We've enabled a feature that is fairly new to Kickstarter allowing for "Late Pledges". Pretty much all of the reward tiers and add-ons are available as late pledges (please note that most are a few dollars more than they were during the campaign). Late pledges and additional retailer preorders WILL all count towards unlocking both of our Stretch Goals...

So we are busy finalizing the digital sculpts for the BASIC figure - Manglers AND the BASIC figure - Baphomet!

We will be sharing additional progress images of both on here and our social media accounts in the coming weeks...

We continued doing livestreams up through the final hours of the campaign, you can find all TWENTY NINE (29!) of them saved in our YouTube Playlists.
